The Problem

In the process of building a new Data Platform, Leeds had several urgent requirements to both start work on this project and back fill permanent members of staff who were moving to work on the Data Platform. The roles filled were: Data Architect X1, Information Analyst X2, Senior Data Warehouse Technical Leads X2, Business Analyst X1.

The Work

Working with the Senior Project Managers, Laura Holmes and Julia Lake, we made a Trello Board, WhatsApp Group and conducted Video Calls with all individual hiring managers to ensure constant collaboration. At interview stage I sat on the interviews as a third party, managing and organising and taking feedback straight after the call – this provided a great experience for both client and candidate.

The Outcome

6 Contractors were hired on 12 month contracts within 4 weeks, all started and all paperwork complete. We have also had 2 & 4 week check in calls with both the client and contractor to see how things started.

Working with Alex and Evolution has been a very satisfying experience, ultimately resulting in the hiring of two very high-quality contractors; with Alex taking the time to carefully discuss and draw out our requirements rather than just sending a set of CVs to review, candidates of the expected calibre and skillset in line with our needs were introduced.

Recruiting 6 contractors at once for an immediate start was a big ask but Alex made the process incredibly easy. We knew exactly what he needed from us and when, he never failed to update us on progress, the candidates we got were brilliant and contracts and the paperwork was always completed quickly. He couldn ’t have done anything to improve our experience with Evolution as it was perfect!
