EPR Implementation

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital NHS FT needed to enhance its Meditech EPR program to provide better outcomes for patients and staff alike but the hospital required considerable expertise and capacity, to deliver a comprehensive program that could flex and scale throughout the phases of the programme. They needed a supplier partner to deliver a team of experienced professionals with specific platform experience, which would enable the Trust to achieve its goals while remaining within budget.

The Work

Evolution were chosen to partner with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to provide a bespoke EPR services solution. We utilised our team of Meditech and EPR specialists and leveraged our extensive network of associates to supply a team of skilled professionals with the platform experience to implement a comprehensive special education program. Our model provided the right level of elasticity and agility to allow the trust to flex and scale up or down as the program moved forward, unlocking unforecast cost and resource efficiencies for the Trust.

We structured our delivery as a milestone-based program, with clear deliverables and metrics to measure success. This enabled us to provide a clear statement of work (SOW) type benefits to the hospital, ensuring that they knew exactly what to expect and what results they could anticipate.

By supplying the right people, we were able to enable the hospital to focus on what it does best, while we took care of the heavy lifting. We supplied contractors to carry out the implementation and provided ongoing support.

The Outcome

Our solution enabled Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to achieve its goals for its EPR program. By delivering the right people with platform experience, we enabled the hospital to achieve its goals without overburdening its own team. The milestone-based approach, with its clear deliverables and metrics, allowed the hospital to measure the program’s effectiveness and adjust as needed.

The elastic workforce we provided allowed the hospital to scale up or down as needed, which provided agility and efficiency throughout the project. By supplying the right people to do the heavy lifting, we enabled the hospital to focus on what it does best, while we took care of the rest. This approach resulted in an effective and cost-efficient solution that met the hospital’s needs and budget.

Having worked with Evolution for several years they evidenced quite early on that they understand the
requirement of building an EPR team. From the Programme Director to the Test Lead, Data Migration expert, PMs, and many more. Not only do they understand the delivery needs they are also aware of how an EPR is built to ensuring patient safety. The team at Evolution have spent time working with me on my needs to establish the right team to work with and a testament to this is the ongoing relationship I have with Evolution and that my
team also has. My team and I have been together well over a year now this again speaks for itself when creating a
team, that Evolution were able to bring together professionals who can create a unified team to build a
substantial EPR.
