The Project

Cloud Payments Software Spenmo, that partners with payment service providers licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to provide its users with payments services, has recently closed US$ 34M Series A Funding and, as such, needed to engage an agile talent partner to meet its exciting goals. Engaging Evolution, Spenmo is looking to meet their next round of funding head on.

The Work

Evolution Recruitment Solutions are on hand to provide support whenever a need arises for Spenmo on an ongoing basis. Engaged initially to help scale their product team, we followed our talent sourcing methodology to first discover the types of profiles Spenmo needed from their product professionals by assessing competitors and the existing product team. After placing a Senior Product Manager we were then engaged to help find Software Engineers and UX professionals – combining the same methodology with Evolution’s advanced search function we reached out to already engaged professionals. To give balance to the profiles we provided we also launched a campaign to find passive candidates by building content around the Spenmo story and ambitions before using it to attract and engage strong, passive candidates.

The Outcome​

With plans to triple the size of their product team by the end of 2022, Spenmo are growing aggressively. Through an agile sourcing methodology, Evolution are able to support Spenmo with growth at all levels and within all verticals.

The Problem

Holding company for luxury goods and trading business such as The Westminster Collection, 288 Group were embarking on large digital transformation projects when they engaged Evolution to help find talent to scale their cloud-native solutions. In addition to filling important positions, 288 also wanted to improve their employer brand awareness.

The Work

With the aim to build bespoke, cloud-native solutions, 288 Group needed niche, top-tier talent that could quickly understand and add to the strong culture that 288 Group had nurtured over the past few years. Before engaging Evolution, 288 Group had struggling with response times and fill times for vacancies. To address this, we made communication with all parties a top priority.

After an initial ‘kick-off’ meeting to exchange specifications for the roles required, we started to shortlist for a two-stage interview process. Working closely with Seemin Suleri, Head of Engineering at 288 Group, and the internal recruitment teams at 288, we quickly identified strong candidates and moved them through internal processes, seeking feedback from both candidate and client at every step.

With ‘ around the clock’ communication, we were able to match the intensity of 288 and not only provide multiple strong candidates but also provide a platform for candidate questions to be addressed quickly and efficiently, leading to significantly reduced time to hire. With 288 Group ‘ s growth in mind, we were also keen to be their advocate in the market and help grow their brand as an employer of choice for tech talent. Accessing internal marketing content and working closely with key stakeholders at 288, we were able to take candidates on the 288 Group Journey and accurately describe the wealth of opportunity that came with working at 288.

The Outcome​

With 5 total placements made in 2021 and 3 more planned for 2022 , our relationship with 288 Group has evolved from service provider to true hiring partner.

In the tech market, recruitment happens around the clock. One of the things that I was really impressed with was how the team at Evolution matched that pace. I had complete confidence that Evolution were always looking for the right candidates, asking the right questions and providing us with the right options. It was a well-oiled machine!
