At the start of each year, at Evolution’s Head Office in Warrington, we hold a vote for a local charity that our employees would like to fundraise for that year. In January 2018, it was announced internally that Alder Hey Children’s Charity had received the most votes, meaning we will be working with them throughout the year to raise as much money as possible.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises crucial funds to help make Alder Hey in the Park, also known as Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, a world-class, patient-friendly hospital. They care for over 275,000 patients and families every single year, and a significant amount of money has already been raised to provide life-saving medical equipment and facilities. However, their fundraising focus is now on their research, innovation and education projects.
Alder Hey’s research is recognised both nationally and internationally. The majority of medicines used across the country have not been developed explicitly for children, despite children and young people being the most common users of healthcare. Much of Alder Hey’s research is going towards developing medicines specifically for children, ensuring that they are safe and effective.
Furthermore, Alder Hey is committed to ensuring that all patients can, and will, benefit from the latest technology. They are currently working on a number of incredible projects, including using sensor technology to undertake blood tests as an alternative to using needles, and developing 3D prints from patients' scans to create accurate models for surgeons to plan the necessary procedures for operations. None of this would be possible without extensive medical research.
Throughout 2018, Evolution Recruitment Solutions will be taking part in numerous fundraising events and activities to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Charity. We will keep you updated via the blog, as well as on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
