For the past few months I have been organising the JavaScript Meetup group, taking place at the Evolution office in Warrington, on the third Tuesday of every month.
This month’s JavaScript meetup was led by Tim Behrsin, who has recently started a new role with The Daily Mail as a Senior Software Engineer. The topic of his talk was “Web, desktop and mobile with React Native”.
During the discussion, Tim demonstrated how to develop streamlined apps that look native on all platforms, using React Native and React Native Web. He looked into routing and designing multi-window desktop apps, as well as gotchas to look out for when structuring your React application for multiple environments.
This month’s Meetup was an insightful evening for myself and my colleagues, and it was extremely interesting to understand the challenges of development involving the latest technologies. React Native has become a hot topic in the development community lately, so it was great to speak with developers and discuss their reasons for attending.
If you are interested in attending future JavaScript Meetups, the next one will be taking place at Evolution’s office in Warrington on 17th October 2017. Further details will be provided on the Meetup page soon, and of course, pizza and beer will be provided!
If you are attending the October Meetup, please remember to RSVP.
