Evolution’s Infrastructure Team Reaccredited by Cyber Essentials

blog

After our first annual assessment to measure if our infrastructure team met the requirements of the Cyber Essentials implementation profile, Evolution is officially Cyber Essentials certified for a second year.

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help businesses and other organisations protect themselves against common cyber attacks. The Cyber Essentials scheme is owned by the UK government’s National Cyber Security Centre, which acts as a bridge between industry and government, providing a unified source of advice, guidance and support on cybersecurity. Their vision is to help make the UK the safest place to live and do business online.

To meet the Cyber Essentials requirements, businesses are required to implement controls in five key areas:

  • Firewalls and internet gateways
  • Secure configuration
  • User access control
  • Malware protection
  • Patching

The benefits of a Cyber Essentials certification includes:

  • Reassuring customers that you take cybersecurity seriously
  • Being listed in the Cyber Essentials directory of organisiations
  • Attracting new business with the promise that you have cybersecurity measures in place

As a result, after being assessed for a second time, Evolution's IT defences were measured as satisfactory against commodity based cyber-attacks.

Well done to Evolution’s infrastructure team for ensuring we remained Cyber Essentials certified!
