Project Manager (Finance/Accounting), 1-year renewable contract
We are hiring a Project Manager for our client in the fintech space. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing one or more complex projects that involve multiple stakeholders, ensuring that project charters, integrated project plans, resource plans and contingency plans are fully scoped and documented, and that appropriate risk management processes are in place.
The Project Manager leads the identification and development of project objectives, scope, plans, dependencies, and success criteria in collaboration with the project sponsor and other stakeholders. He/She will lead multiple work streams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high quality and cost-effective deliverables. He/She will manage complex software development & delivery projects in a challenging, fast paced, constantly changing Agile environment.
Reporting to the Global Delivery Manager, he/she will be closely working with customers, team colleagues, Business Analysts, Technical Experts, Developers, to manage and deliver Core Banking solutions in different Private Banking / Wealth Management business areas including securities, stock exchange, trading, cash operations, forex, treasury management, derivatives, funds etc.
Responsibilities
Analysis, development, and evaluation activities:
Direct handling or implementation of streams related to the project: process definition, process optimization, Target Operating Model, writing of specifications, report/minutes writing, migration data mapping, system configuration, testing and defects management, deployment, training, change management and user support
Organization, management, and implementation activities:
Develop integrated project plan, resource plan, communication plan and related project management artefacts
Process modelling and implementation
Develop and drive project team members to achieve the desired goals of the project
Define and report on project progress and achievement of project milestones to stakeholders
Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk and stakeholder value, prioritizing high impact deadlines and activities
Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered. Anticipate, capture and manage overall project-level risks and issues.
Ensure all project artefacts maintained throughout the project life cycle (plans, resourcing, cost plans, scheduling, RAID items, functional and technical specifications, CRs, Status Reports) are up-to-date and accurate
Provide project analysis to facilitate senior stakeholder discussions and build connection for negotiation
Conduct the project through monitoring and relevant feedback on the progress, risks and challenges of the project with consideration of the needs for decisions or alerts.
Track and forecast key financial metrics against targets, preparing forecasts and budget reports
Tests and defect management
Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders, demonstrating understanding of their perspective, proactively and their delivery focus
Identify synergies with other projects to accelerate implementation and reduce costs
Project wide implementation of processes, policies and best practices for change
Work closely with global teams in a fast-changing technology landscape with an ability to display initiative and work in an unstructured environment
Communication, contact, moderation or sales activities:
Change management and trainings
Animation of committees / sessions in the framework of project governance
Relations with Top Management of customer Banks to monitor their satisfaction on the project
Reporting to client’s Top management on the project
Project management in collaboration with the strategic stakeholders of the Client Banks and continuous progress communication to governing instances (Steering Committees, Comex members, …)
Financial and control activities
Budget monitoring of the project
Time-sheets follow-up
Estimates / enhancement reports
Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Business or Computer Science IT
PMP (or equivalent) certification is a plus
8+ years of Project Management experience and proven track record working with distributed delivery teams across geographies
Demonstrated experience in bank integration as a global project manager in large IT or organizational projects.
Experience of employing a broad and diverse range of project management best practices disciplines, methodologies, and tools.
To be able to effectively lead and work across teams at all levels and negotiate/influence at senior level.
Have the capacity to motivates teams into reaching challenging goals, inspires commitment, and positive attitude from the team.
Relevant knowledge & experience in Finance, Accounting, Credit, Risk and Permanent Control, Private Banking & Wealth Management (different Asset Types / Financial products), Asset & Investment Management
Sound understanding of project management lifecycles, disciplines, methods (Waterfall & Agile), tools and procedures
Good knowledge of emerging technologies and applications
Technology acquaintance : COBOL, Java, SQL, APIs & Digital Banking
Additional Skills and Experience
Understand, identify and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results.
Ensure gaps in deliverables are identified early and addressed effectively.
Detailed understanding and demonstrable experience pf the full project lifecycle including requirement/configuration documentations, testing, migrations, interactions & close working relationship with cross-functional teams (project managers, IT/Development teams, Testing team and architects), target operating model design & delivery
Extensive experience of business and technology change –identify, document, analyze and improve business and system processes and user journeys
Previous experience on core banking product (Temenos-T24, Avaloq, Olympic etc) systems implementations for global clients
A passion for working in and developing a culture of collaboration, automation, improvement, sharing and excellence
Keep abreast of Wealth Management / Private Banking market trends, regulatory changes, technological advances to incorporate appropriate changes in our product offering
