To be an enthusiastic and customer-focused Category Manager. Key Responsibilities:

Support clients throughout the duration of the project lifecycle including:

  • Technically competent and a proven track record of delivery in Procurement within the FM Category/ Professional Services, preferably in retail or a similar fast paced service environment. Experience to cover all commercial aspects of Hard and Soft FM and professional services
  • Implement delivery strategy, including negotiating and contracting with suppliers, evaluating ongoing contract and supplier performance, and measuring compliance
  • Support account management activities
  • Conduct market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award activities within the FM or Professional Services category to meet client requirements and delivery timelines
  • Manage the performance of key suppliers, using appropriate metrics, to improve performance, increase levels of engagement, encourage innovation, and deliver additional value for client contracts
  • Monitor and report progress against delivery plans daily
  • Analysing bids, shortlisting, and vetting suppliers.
  • Facilitating contract negotiations and creating statements of work.
  • Experience of NEC/JCT contracts for FM Category desirable
  • Experienced in interpretation of contracts and clauses, in depth understanding of contracts within the FM or Professional Services category
  • Providing proactive communication to clients and suppliers regarding project deliverables.
  • Teaming up with the client account managers to provide excellent customer service and consistent customer communications.
  • Able to create appropriate commercial models to suit requirements
  • Able to effectively influence and manage internal and external senior leaders/stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable of Supplier Relationship Management best practice
  • Understanding of best practice in Procurement both Private and Public sector but not essential
  • Highly analytical, numerate and ability to effectively multi-task across projects
  • Conduct customer spend analysis as required.

  • Effective at stakeholder management and comfortable with engaging at all levels of the business both internally and externally.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable learning new computer systems.
  • Be able to change with business operations
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in an applicable field such as Purchasing, Project Management, Marketing or Business, CIPS qualified or currently studying, 3 years of relevant category management experience within FM or Professional Services.
  • Experience

  • 1-3 years of project management, purchasing, and/or marketing experience.
  • Experience in a strategic sourcing or category management role. Strong knowledge and understanding of current strategic procurement techniques and value levers
  • Strong category management knowledge, with experience of Category Strategies
  • Proven track record of identifying and delivering procurement savings against targets across a portfolio of initiatives within the FM or Professional Services category
  • Experience of managing sourcing projects from conception through to completion
