Digital Accessibility SME – Online Learning Designer
You will have practitioner level knowledge of Accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in accordance with the Government’s requirements for websites and its implementation in elearning development including interface design, HTML5, rapid authoring content, video and audio.
WCAG 2.1 AA implementation within an online training environment which includes:
Articulate Storyline output
Video and audio
Prepartion of lesson resources for face to face training
PDF/UA and PDF accessibility
Word and Powerpoint accessibility
Solid communication skills, with an emphasis on collaborating, and coaching
Essential Experience of…
Carrying out accessibility audits of online learning content, virtual lessons and learning resources
Creating accessibility guidelines/policies/methodologies, and providing coding guidance to the elearning development team, and train the trainer providers.
Acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for WCAG guidelines and staying informed of new guidelines as they arise
Working within the Academy’s technology enhanced learning (TEL) team – including close collaboration with developers, graphic designers, animators, authors and learning designers
Testing and evaluating assistive technology hardware and software (including screen readers and speech-to-text systems)
Implementing Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG)
