Hertfordshire Health Trust approached us with a remote care project. They had recognised during the pandemic that they had vulnerable patients who needed regular monitoring but didn’t necessarily need to come into clinic. They secured a blue box solution from a different provider whereby monitoring key health measures such as glucose, oxygenation and blood pressure can be completed remotely.
Hertfordshire Health Trust had a plan to roll out the blue box solution to people in care homes initially, knowing that there were professionals available there who would be able to help with it. From here, they wanted to use the blueprint to roll it out into the public domain.
The Trust needed a team to look at the blue box technology, ascertain what would be involved in terms of training, report on results, collect and collate data, and deal with change. Although the Trust has a dedicated IT team and clinicians, they didn’t have anyone in place who could bridge the gap and bring the two together for this project.
Our team at Evolution Recruitment Solutions partnered with AI Digital, experienced solution providers in the NHS and healthcare. We worked with them to develop a proposal to deliver the project from start to finish.
Delivery is broken down into four stages for effective and cost-efficient implementation. Discover, design, deliver and drive.
The first phase is ‘Discovery’. We spent time at the outset to ensure there is a clear understanding of the scope and objectives at both a leadership and service user level to assess the predicted impact. This provided a firm foundation for the rest of the project.
Based on the findings of the Discover stage, we ‘Designed’ and planned the Telehealth implementation delivery. This was unique to the clients operations and importantly, developed with their input and guidance to ensure it meets all expectations.
Delivery is not just about implementing the plan. It’s also about proactively identifying risks and issues as and when they emerge and offering solutions as quickly as possible. Our approach aligned with the Trust’s ‘Good to Great’ strategy. Through the creation of a cross boundary stakeholder partnership to co-produce the project, we delivered a safe, effective and positive experience. Finally, the Drive stage consisted of lessons learned, blueprint production, and benefits management.
Evolution Recruitment Solutions delivered the project according to plan, carrying out training, implementing the remote care technology, and carrying out post-implementation support, and building and maintaining a document configuration library including blueprints. Following this, we secured a second opportunity to carry out the second rollout with two different groups over a 12 month period.
